Many who focus on Web and multimedia might argue that print is dead. Far from it. The tactile experience of print, in conjunction with specialty high-end papers make print as exciting and dynamic as it ever was. And it certainly continues to be an integral part of a cohesive marketing campaign.

Friends of the Rockville Library

The Rockville (Maryland) Public Library is on the cusp of a beautiful facility in the newly revitalized Rockville Town Center. Amidst park areas, retail shops and residences, the new library will be a hub for both education and recreation.

In order to promote the new library and use the event to boost fundraising, the Friends of the Rockville Library wanted a simple tri-fold brochure that could be easily mailed out to the community with a perforated return card, making it easy for people to donate and join.

PFLAG: Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays

For their annual gala, PFLAG enlisted the help of their lead corporate sponsor, Booz Allen Hamilton, to create a theme along with all the visual elements needed for the high-end event.

The "Groovy 60s" became the theme, mirroring the work of present-day gay rights efforts to the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The project manager led the initiative, and I provided illustrations, layout work and a multimedia piece to be played during the event. The response was tremendous, raising over $250,000 for the organization and its causes.
